Title: Perfect ending to the BC Intro and perfect start t
Date: 22/02/2010

Last weeks BC Intro came to a fitting end with a fantastic powder day in the Valley Blanche. A super deep run down the Petite Envers ended another superb week of fresh turns on untracked faces.

Today I started a Tech clinic up at Le Tour. We went through the science behind turning your board by design rather than by force looking at the line you need to take, how the board actually works and then the bio mechanics behind the movements that you need to make to apply pressure to the board in order to bend it and make it turn and follow your desired line down the mountain.

We worked in a guided discovery sort of fashion were I asked questions and we then rode to search out the answers. awareness is the key during this initial phase of learning and so its important that everyone understands the science behind how everything works and why you need to do it in the first place.

Everyone came on strong today and it bodes well for the week. We finished the day off with a short powder run down the front face off the Tete du Balme and so ended another great day in the mountains of Chamonix!

Conditions are good at the moment, great snow today that has mostly fallen without wind with a soft base underneath. The temperature went up today and it became almost spring like this afternoon but the snow has stayed good.

Mixed weather forecast for the week with more snow forecast, but then it was meant to be bad today and it was glorious sunshine so we'll see.

All is good,

Neil.
